Interview with Pixeled

Time to get to know a bit more about Pixeled. You've seen the work, let's hear a little something about the person.

What is that common every day thing that can really make your day?
Love is! I love to see people loving things. I love to love. I know, it may sound a bit soft (and in reality I may not even seem like such a loving person) but I really love love!

Is there a typical topic, story or concept that fuels your creations? Where does that fascination come from?
Life!

Visual artists and music is like cookies and milk, does music do anything for you?
Very much! Music is great, and like you said: visual and musical creativity go hand in hand very well together. I also compose music, it relaxes me (just as drawing does).

Besides the relaxing function, I think music can be used as an instrument to influence your mood (if you want it to). When feeling sad, listening to sad music can actually cheer you up, for example by listening to the song texts and relativising your current situation, or just letting the sad tones of the music accompany you in your loneliness. On the other hand, when feeling happy, happy music can make you feel euphoric!

How would you describe your style?
Sketchy, but not messy.

Is there something specific that sparked your creative side?
No, I have loved drawing since I was a child.

What equipment do you use to create your work?
Just plain pencil and paper and Photoshop 7.0

Wich programs do you use and what do you use them for?
Photoshop 7.0, to airbrush my paintings.

How do you work on improving yourself? Any secrets you'd like to share?
By just doing things. Drawing, for example. It's a simple universal law: Experience something to know what it feels like. If you want to get better at it, just keep experiencing it over and over again.

And ofcourse, observing others also plays a great part in the learning process.
